sir it is true! for sure one of my fav artists is you! it is awesome knowing we have not only 1 of your pieces in our house but 3! plus our kids love em too. Joshua still regularly gets up in the morning pointing too his name that you did shouting " Look! Mummy, Daddy Look! " he's got taste. XD
thanks dann that is so freakin cool. i went on a 800 mile road trip from wednesday to saturday to visit family down in little rock arkansas. i was seriously thinking of you guys saturday night as i sat in on a jam session ( i didnt play ) with 6 guys that were cranking out the blues like i havent heard in years. it was that good. after the bar closed up we went back to the house for some very serious acoustic jamming. it was one beautiful night and i was thinking that you two would have fit right in ! im taking my guitar the next time i go
ahh man that sounds so sweet! seriously wish we coulda been there. to be honest we aint been to any live stuff for ages. the kids are a bit young. XD closest recently has been rock band and guitar hero on the xbox....it just aint the same. XD
i even have guitar hero i suck at it unless its on the easiest setting. my brother in law jim is a bassist. he is really good but a bit of a prickly sort. he bought a new washburn 6 string acoustic and was playing around with it. i never knew he could play 6 string but it was impressive. he would set it down and my uncle marvin would pick it up and go off on some old 60's hits. he also played several of his own compositions with lyrics. in this family i will always be the rookie cept for art they suck at that ! i just started the music thing too late but im progressing right along speaking of kids...... my youngest daughter ariel is getting married next month shes 20 yrs old. big big party coming for that !!
thank you my friend i use pitt artist pens and strathmore " smooth " drawing paper. i believe its a 9" x 11" but i have to shave a quarter inch off two sides to get it to fit in my scanner. i would be equally interested in your supplies as well
i been using STAEDTLER or MICRON pens and SLICK WRITER markers for fills on Strathmore vellum and smooth bristol. usually 14"x17" but lately 11"x14" cause i haven't drawn in a while. i normally take a picture and clean it in photoshop but if i need hi res, i scan it in four segments and piece it together in photoshop, which is a pain.
i love the microns but they dont give me as much ink as the pitt's. i will have to look into the slick writers. the smooth bristol is my favorite but up until a yr or so ago i was drawing everything on printer paper your gallery is by far and away one of the best that ive ever come across. i must ask if i may have you had any formal schooling in the arts ? none for me but then i never bothered finishing high school either that was many yrs ago ! i have ps and i would never even attempt to piece anything together so good luck on that my friend !
thanks and yeah, never had any formal schooling. but i have been drawing since high school, which was a long time ago as well. and the slick writers are just cheap thick markers but they don't last too long. i can't say i would recommend them. later
Not primarily. Even though Traffic was psychedelic, he did some blues with the Stones and Fleetwood Mac. Although, all musicians seem to have blues roots in their bones. I consider Dave Mason an English songwriter/English rock guitarist. Mason was friend with Hendrix, and played acoustic guitar on "All Along the Watchtower."
several facts i did not know i've been watching some videos of him and man can he play that 12 string.he has such a full throttle voice too. i was watching this one video of his and the guy was literally dripping sweat everywhere. i had to think damn .......somebody get the poor guy a towel dont go wandering to far off of here glenn ! nothing beats good conversation sometimes
I was looking thru some books on Woodstock 1969, and man, there is so much interesting stuff in them. I was in Chicago, at the time, in art school, and I could hardly take off a go there. Although, I would have liked too. A concert like this will NEVER happen again. Never. Too bad it had to rain so much over there in NY. You are welcome to write me anytime, Frank, you have my email, too. Good luck McDog
